Microcement is a very durable and modern looking coating system. It is a highly versatile material that can be used indoors and outdoors, is easy to colour and can be individually textured. Despite being applied in 2-3 mm thicknesses, it is extremely durable and resistant to everyday wear and tear. I use both one-component and ready-mixed types so you can choose the texture and look you want. The single component gives a more grainy, natural look, the ready mixed gives a more homogeneous finish.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

On what surface can it be applied? The microcement kitchen countertop is the perfect choice if you want a kitchen countertop with a clean look. It can be used to balance out hot and cold effects and harmonise the furniture materials used in the kitchen.<\/span><\/p>

The material can be applied to mdf up to 18 mm thick, for a truly modern look.<\/span><\/p>

The kitchen countertop will be made in 6-8 days after a precise assessment of your needs (in consultation with your carpenter).<\/span><\/p>

The construction can be carried out with a one-component or ready-mixed type of material.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

New kitchen countertops can be made on site or in my workshop. If it is to be built in my workshop, you will need to send me the parts of the countertop, marking the parts you want to coat with microcement. The advantage of working in my workshop is that there are no exits and I do not interfere with the work of other professionals.<\/span><\/p>

If you want to renovate your existing kitchen countertop, there is also the possibility to do so at the installation site.<\/span><\/p>

Microcement stairs

Microcement can be used to cover stairs both indoors and outdoors, as the material is very strong and UV resistant. It also has the advantage that it does not require special maintenance (like wood).<\/span><\/p>

Microcement is not suitable for smoothing out any unevenness in the staircase, as it is applied in a thickness of only 2-3 mm. Therefore, the surface of the stair must be levelled first, otherwise it will take on the shape of the underlying surface.<\/span><\/p>

Furniture renovation with microcement

I have two small children. We've had our dining room table for a year, but it's been scribbled on, scratched, stained, worn. That's what it is. But we really like it because it's the right size, it has a rounded edge and it's totally sturdy.<\/span><\/p>

I have an ikea TV stand left over from my youth, it's completely sturdy, the size is good, the wheel has given up the ghost, but the point is that apart from the stains and scratches it's a very nice piece of furniture. We wouldn't want to part with it, just refurbish the surface, replace the legs and it's a nice, unique piece of furniture.<\/span><\/p>

Furniture refurbishment is not only about protecting the environment, but also about saving value. We love our good furniture, so it's not a shame to refurbish it rather than replace it.<\/span><\/p>

Importantly, we do not do carpentry work. I will sand the furniture in order to apply the microcement, but I will not do any major woodwork. So, if you need a major refinishing\/repair of the furniture first, have a joiner do it first and then bring it to me for microcement coating.<\/span><\/p>

When designing new furniture, you can let your imagination run wild, because microcement can be combined very well with wood, metal, glass and marble.<\/span><\/p>

If you can't find the right furniture design in the webshop, or if you want a combination of them, or if you have a unique idea, I can help you to create a completely new piece of furniture. If you would like to have the body of the furniture made by your own joiner, that is also an option and I will have the furniture coated. I pay particular attention during the making process to ensure that the furniture is coated in as assembled a state as possible, so that there are no joint edges\/gaps.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
